Tip-ie Import Feature

Import Facility Demo Video

You can now import selections into Tip-ie via a csv file. This may be useful to you if your tips come to you in this form from a tipster or other source or you have your own selection process that you can output in a csv format.

The format of the file can have the following fields/columns

Time, Market, Selection, STP, Stake, Min Odds, Max Odds, Min Runners, Max Runners, Type, Price, T/F

Time and Selection must both be included, the rest are optional. If the other fields are not included the defaults from your Tip-ie defaults panel are used.

For example a line in the file may read:

21/09/2006 14:00,Warw,Aahayson,10,2,1,10,B,10.5,F

  • The Date Time MUST be in 24 hour format DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM.
  • If T/F field is included it must be T or F (Tics or Fixed)
  • If T/F is T, the Price must be an integer, if Price is not specified then 0 will be assumed.
  • If T/F is F, the Price must be an number - this number will be rounded to 2 decimal places.
  • If included STP must be an integer; Stake, Min Odds, Max Odds, Min Runners, Max Runners must be a number (will be rounded to 2 decimal places, Min Runners and Max Runners to an integer)
  • If Type is included it must be B or L

T/F:

  • - T stands for Tics, the price submitted will be the number of tics (specified in Price) away from the current price available on Betfair (at STP). A negative Price to order at a better price, a positive at a worse price (to ensure the placement)
  • - F stands for fixed, the price ordered will be the exact price specified in Price. If you have entered an incorrect bet size then the price will be rounded to the nearest better price that can be submitted when the bets are placed.

If you include the headers as the first line of your csv file Tip-ie will automatically select the correct values for that column and assume the first row to be your header row. Alternatively you can tell the Tip-ie Import window what each column stands for.

Our example csv file:

Date Time, Market, Selection, STP, Stake, Min Odds, Max Odds, Type, Price, T/F 21/09/2006 14:00,Warw,Aahayson,10,2,1,10,B,10.5,F

OK, so now you should be aware of how your csv file should look.

Click Import File and open the csv file you wish to import:

tip-ie import window

Then click Import Selections and they will be entered into Tip-ie after the import facility has checked all of your settings and matched your race and horse to a Betfair race and horse. If you specify and incorrect Time or Horse the selection will not be imported.
